If you are a Jordanian citizen applying for a tourist, business, student, or work visa, the US Embassy in Amman is where the magic (and the paperwork) happens.
Location: Abdoun, Al-Umawyeen St 37, Amman
Phone: +962 (6) 520 5500
Email: AmmanVisaInfo@state.gov
Official Site: jo.usembassy.gov
Quick Tip: Keep in mind that while we help you prepare, the Embassy has the final and only say on all visa approvals.
The road to a visa involves a few key steps. It’s a process, but we’ll help you navigate it:
The Booking: We’ll help you grab a slot through the official portal.
The Paperwork: You’ll need your passport, your completed forms, and your photos ready to go.
The Visit: You’ll head to the Embassy for biometrics (fingerprints and photos) and a brief interview with a consular officer.
The Wait: Processing times vary. It could be a few days or a few weeks depending on how busy they are, so it’s always best to plan ahead!
To give yourself the best shot at an approval, you’ll need to have your “ducks in a row.” Here’s the checklist:
A Healthy Passport: It needs to be valid for at least 6 months after you plan to leave the US.
The DS-160 Form: This is your official online application—accuracy is everything here.
Photos: Recent, biometric-standard photos (don’t worry, we know the exact specs).
Receipts: Proof that the non-refundable visa fee has been paid.
Proof of Your Life in Jordan: The Embassy wants to see that you have a reason to come home—this means things like job contracts, property deeds, or university enrollment.
The Details: Your flight plans, where you’re staying, and proof that you have the funds to enjoy your trip.
Not every trip is the same, so we’ll make sure you’re applying for the right category:
Tourist: For vacations, sightseeing, and visiting family.
Business: For meetings, conferences, or negotiating deals.
Student: For those headed to US universities or language programs.
Medical: Specifically for those seeking specialized treatment in the US.

Unlike the US Embassy, Schengen visas are often handled by third-party service centers like VFS Global, TLScontact, or BLS International located in Amman.
Which Embassy? You apply at the embassy of the country where you’ll spend the most days. If you’re splitting your time exactly 50/50, apply at the embassy of the country you’ll enter first.
The Hubs: Most European countries (like Germany, Italy, or Spain) use application centers in Sweifieh or Abdoun. We’ll make sure you head to the right building!
European travel involves a specific rhythm. Here is how we get you through it:
Pick Your Partner: We identify the correct service center (VFS, TLS, or BLS) and book your slot.
The Digital Form: Most countries require an online application. We’ll help you fill it out to ensure every detail is “embassy-ready.”
Biometrics: You’ll visit the center in person to have your fingerprints and photo taken.
Processing: Usually, it takes about 15 calendar days, but it’s smart to apply at least a month before your flight.
Schengen requirements are strict about travel security. You will need:
A Valid Passport: Must have at least two blank pages and be valid for 3 months after you return to Jordan.
Schengen Travel Insurance: This is a big one. You need a policy that covers at least €30,000 for medical emergencies across the entire Schengen area.
Your “Paper Trail”:
Flight & Hotel: Confirmed round-trip flight reservations and proof of accommodation for every night you’re in Europe.
Financial Proof: Bank statements from the last 3–6 months to show you’re covered.
Ties to Home: An HR letter from your employer, your business registration, or university enrollment.
The Fee: The standard fee for adults is €90 (plus a small service fee at the center).
We’ll help you select the category that fits your trip:
Tourist: For your European summer or winter getaway.
Business: For meetings, training, or trade fairs.
Visiting Family/Friends: If you have an invitation from someone living in Europe.
Medical Treatment: For specialized healthcare visits.

While the Canadian Embassy is located in Abdoun, they don’t usually take walk-ins for visas. Instead, you’ll likely visit the VFS Global Canada Visa Application Centre (VAC) in Amman to submit your fingerprints.
VFS Global Address: Galleria Mall, Building No. 6, 4th Floor, Sweifieh, Amman.
Official Site: canada.ca (The “source of truth” for all forms).
The Review: Just like the US and Schengen, all final decisions are made by Canadian immigration officers, not the application center.
Canada has moved into the digital age, which makes things a bit more organized:
The Digital Upload: We help you create an IRCC secure account and upload your documents digitally. No paper stacks required at this stage!
The Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL): Once your application is submitted, Canada will send a letter asking for your fingerprints.
The VFS Visit: You’ll book an appointment at the VFS Global center in Sweifieh just to give your “biometrics” (photo and fingerprints).
The Passport Request: If your visa is approved, they’ll ask you to send your physical passport to the embassy via VFS to get the visa sticker.
Timing: Canada’s processing times can be a bit of a rollercoaster—sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months. Applying early is your best friend.
Canada is very focused on “intent”—they want to see that you have a clear plan and a reason to return to Jordan.
A Valid Passport: Ensure it’s valid for the entire duration of your stay.
The “Family Information” Form: Canada asks for a bit more detail about your family tree than other countries do.
Proof of Funds: You’ll need recent bank statements showing you have enough CAD (Canadian Dollars) to support yourself during your stay.
The “Why”: A clear purpose of travel, including your flight itinerary and hotel bookings.
Ties to Jordan: An employment letter (HR letter), business documents, or property ownership to show you have deep roots here.
The Fee: The standard visitor visa fee is $100 CAD, plus $85 CAD for biometrics if you haven’t done them in the last 10 years.
We’ll help you categorize your trip correctly:
Visitor (TRV): For tourism, seeing family, or just exploring the Great White North.
Business: For meetings, conferences, or scouting business opportunities.
Study Permit: For those accepted into a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI).
Super Visa: A special long-term visa specifically for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens/permanent residents.

As of early 2026, the UK visa process for Jordanian citizens has undergone its biggest transformation in years. The UK has moved to a fully digital system, meaning traditional passport stickers (vignettes) are now a thing of the past for Jordanians.
The British Embassy in Abdoun is the diplomatic heart of the UK in Jordan, but they don’t actually process visa applications there. Instead, you will visit the VFS Global center.
VFS Global Address: Al Baraka Mall, 3rd Floor, Sweifieh, Amman.
The Workflow: You apply and pay online first, then visit the mall for your appointment.
The Decision: Your documents are reviewed by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The staff at VFS are there to help with logistics, but they don’t decide who gets a visa.
The UK process is quite thorough, so it’s best to give yourself plenty of time.
Online Application: You’ll fill out the application on the GOV.UK website. This is where you’ll also pay the visa fee.
The VFS Appointment: After paying, you’ll book a time to visit the Al Baraka Mall. You’ll bring your passport and have your fingerprints and photo taken.
Document Upload: You can either upload your supporting documents yourself before the appointment or pay a small fee for VFS to scan them for you.
Wait Time: Standard processing is usually around 3 weeks, though “Priority” services are often available if you’re in a hurry.
The UK Home Office places a lot of weight on your financial stability and your “ties” to Jordan.
A Valid Passport: It must have at least one blank page for the visa sticker.
Financial Proof: Bank statements from the last 3–6 months. They want to see a steady history, not just a large one-time deposit.
Employment Details: An HR letter from your employer (or business registration if you’re self-employed) showing your salary and that you have leave approved for your trip.
Travel Plan: You don’t need to pay for flights before you get the visa, but you should have a clear itinerary of where you plan to stay and what you’ll be doing.
The Fees: * 6-Month Visit Visa: Approximately $178 USD (varies slightly with exchange rates).
Long-Term Visas (2, 5, or 10 years): These are available but much more expensive.
Make sure you’re applying for the category that matches your plans:
Standard Visitor: For tourism, family visits, or short business meetings (usually valid for 6 months).
Student Visa: If you’ve been accepted into a UK university.
Transit Visa: Even if you’re just passing through a UK airport without leaving the terminal, Jordanians now require a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV).
Work Visas: For specific job offers or “Skilled Worker” routes.

The Australian Embassy is in Abdoun, but you likely won’t need to go there. Instead, your main point of contact for the physical part of your application is the VFS Global center.
VFS Global Address: Galleria Mall, Building No. 6, 4th Floor, Sweifieh, Amman.
The Review: You’ll upload everything to Australia’s “ImmiAccount” portal. The team in Amman handles your fingerprints and photo, but the actual decision is made by the Department of Home Affairs in Australia.
Australia has one of the most streamlined digital systems in the world. Here’s the path:
ImmiAccount: We help you create an online account and upload your documents. No paper forms are mailed; it’s all digital.
The Biometrics Request: After you submit online, you’ll receive a letter asking for your “personal identifiers.”
The Quick Visit: You’ll book an appointment at VFS in Sweifieh. They’ll take a digital photo and a 10-digit fingerprint scan. It usually takes less than 15 minutes.
The Result: Australia issues Grant Notices (electronic visas). You don’t get a sticker in your passport. Your visa is digitally linked to your passport number, so when you check in at the airport, the airline sees your approval instantly.
Australia is big on “Genuine Temporary Entrant” proof—they want to see that you are visiting for fun or business and definitely plan to head back to Jordan.
A Valid Passport: A high-quality digital scan of your current passport (and any old ones with travel stamps).
Financial Health: Bank statements from the last 3–6 months. They want to see that you can comfortably afford your flights and daily “Aussie” lifestyle.
Employment Evidence: A letter from your employer confirming your role, salary, and that your vacation time is approved.
The “Family Book”: An original and translated copy of your Family Book is a key requirement for Jordanians to show family ties.
The Fees (2026 Estimates): * Visitor Visa (Subclass 600): Approximately 190–200 AUD (around 90 JOD).
VFS Service Fee: There is a separate local fee for biometrics collection (approx. 24 JOD).
Visitor (Tourist Stream): For holidays, seeing the sights, or visiting family.
Business Visitor: For attending conferences, negotiations, or short-term work meetings.
Student Visa: If you’re heading to an Australian university or college.
Medical Treatment: For those seeking specific healthcare in Australia.

Traveling within the Gulf as a Jordanian citizen has become much more tech-friendly. In 2026, many of these countries have moved toward eVisas, though some still require a bit of the traditional “Embassy touch.”
Saudi Arabia is the most popular destination for Jordanians, whether for Umrah, business, or visiting family.
How it works: If you have a valid, used US, UK, or Schengen visa, or if you reside in another GCC country, you can get an eVisa or Visa on Arrival.
The Traditional Way: If you don’t have those Western visas, we’ll help you apply for a Personal Visit or Tourist Visa through an authorized office in Amman.
Need-to-Know: You’ll need the Nusuk app if you’re planning to perform Umrah.
The UAE is all about the digital experience.
How it works: It is 100% an eVisa process. There’s no need to visit the embassy in Abdoun. We apply online, and your visa arrives via email.
Options: You can choose between a 30-day or 60-day tourist visa.
Need-to-Know: If you’re flying with Emirates, Etihad, or FlyDubai, we can often process the visa directly through the airline’s portal for extra speed.
Qatar has simplified things through the Hayya Platform.
How it works: You apply for an A1 Entry Visa on the Hayya portal. It’s digital, fast, and very efficient.
Need-to-Know: To get approved, you usually need a “Discover Qatar” hotel booking or proof that you’re staying with a resident. Mandatory health insurance is also a must-have for entry.
Kuwait remains a bit more traditional but has opened up digital routes for certain professionals.
How it works: If you are a professional (doctor, engineer, etc.) with residency in another GCC country, you can apply for an eVisa.
The Traditional Way: For most others, you’ll need a Sponsor (family member or company) in Kuwait to apply for you at the Ministry of Interior, or we can assist with the Embassy process in Amman.
Oman is the hidden gem of the Gulf, and they’ve made it easy for Jordanians to visit.
How it works: Like Saudi Arabia, if you have a used US, UK, or Schengen visa, you can easily grab an eVisa online.
Without Western Visas: You can apply for a standard tourist visa, which often requires a local sponsor or an authorized travel agency (like us) to file the paperwork.
Bahrain is very welcoming to Jordanian travelers.
How it works: You can apply for a Single Entry or Multiple Entry eVisa online. It’s one of the fastest processes in the region, usually taking about 3–5 days.
Need-to-Know: You might even be eligible for a Visa on Arrival if you hold a valid visa/residency for the US, UK, or UAE.
Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months.
Photos: Always have a digital copy of a high-quality passport photo with a white background.
Insurance: Most of these countries now require “Local” health insurance, which is usually included in the visa fee.
